Our founding team dipped for a combined 50+ years before charging ahead with Black Buffalo. Is Black Buffalo harmful or cancer-causing?

The FDA limits our ability to make any "harm reduction" or "modified risk" claims without extensive testing that can take years and cost millions of dollars. However, here's what we can say: Black Buffalo has no tobacco leaf, no tobacco stem, and we don't fire-cure or ferment our leaves. When tobacco is fire-cured and fermented in traditional dip, it leads to the formation of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). We encourage you to read up on TSNAs and PAHs, their levels in traditional smokeless tobacco products, and their effects on the human body. After you do, you'll be in a much better position to make up your mind on the relative safety of Black Buffalo. To reiterate: Black Buffalo does not contain any tobacco leaf or stem and we don't fire-cure or ferment our leaves.

Does Black Buffalo contain nicotine or tobacco?

Create an account on blackbuffalo.com. You will then need to verify your age by completing a simple form that automatically approves your account. Can I try a sample of Black Buffalo to see if I like it?

Unfortunately, no. FDA regulations prohibit sampling. Feel free to reach out to our Dip Angels via chat, email, SMS, or phone for a discount to use at checkout for 10% off your first order. If you don’t enjoy it, we will refund you in full. 

Does Black Buffalo have a return policy?

Consumers are coming to Black Buffalo from a variety of traditional smokeless brands, so we understand if our flavor does not match everyone’s individual preferences. If you purchase Black Buffalo and do not enjoy it, we will refund you in full immediately.

Why isn't the age-verification process working for me?

We use Veratad, which is one of the most sophisticated age-verification systems in the world. It works smoothly 99% of the time, but it can be sensitive in an effort to prevent fraud and underage purchasing. Do you offer subscriptions or auto-shipments?

Yes, we now offer subscriptions on our eight nicotine products: Wintergreen Long Cut, Mint Long Cut, Straight Long Cut, Peach Long Cut, Blood Orange Long Cut, Wintergreen Pouches, Mint Pouches, and Straight Pouches. You can subscribe to be automatically billed and shipped orders of 10, 15 or 20 can increments of any single flavor of the above products on their respective product pages. Just click "Set & Forget, Boss" to select your desired increment. You can choose to be shipped your subscription every 15 or 30 days. Click the dropdown menu under "Set & Forget, Boss" to select your frequency. By subscribing to our service, you have confirmed that you accept our Terms of Service. Your membership will automatically renew on a recurring basis at which time your credit card will be charged automatically for the subscription products, including applicable shipping and handling fees until you cancel your membership. You may cancel your membership at anytime by logging in to your account, selecting Subscriptions, then clicking cancel next to the item.

Why can't I subscribe to auto-shipments of some products?

Some products are manufactured in small batch limited runs and are unavailable for subscription. Keep an eye on the newsletter for all updates.

Can I use a promo code on my subscription?

No. Product is offered at a discounted price per can in every subscription, so you cannot apply a promo code in addition to the discounted price.

Do I earn Herd Points for my subscription purchases?

No. Herd Points can only be earned by one time purchases. Herd Rewards can only be applied to one time purchases.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You may cancel your subscription at anytime by logging in to your account, selecting Subscriptions, then clicking cancel next to the item. Please note: This will only cancel your recurring subscription. This will not cancel the orders you have already placed.

Are there shipping costs?

Yes. We offer $3 shipping via SurePost / Mail Innovations, which we estimate to delivery 6-8 days after purchase; $6 shipping via UPS Ground, which we estimate to deliver 4-5 days after purchase; and $9 shipping via UPS Air, which we estimate to deliver 1-3 days after purchase.

Why is my state not appearing as a shipping option?

How long does it take to receive my order?

It depends on where you live, but Black Buffalo has transitioned to an industry leading fulfillment partner to ensure you get your order as fast as possible. You will receive shipping confirmation and a tracking number as soon as your order has been sent.

My order is delayed/lost, what do I do?

Keep in mind, we make the world's best tobacco alternative dip, but we don't hand-deliver it. If there's a delay or the shipment is lost, feel free to contact your selected shipping carrier directly via your tracking link. If you're still not having any luck, hit us up at info@blackbuffalo.com.

Can I ship to a PO box?

Yes, you can add your PO box address at checkout. Orders to PO boxes must be shipped via SurePost / Mail Innovations. 

Do you offer shipping insurance?

Does Black Buffalo offer gift cards?

Yes we do. You can buy Black Buffalo Gift Cards in various increments. Note: these are electronic gift cards that are sent via email and redeemed online. If you wish to send your gift card purchase with a physical card, please let us know by emailing us at info@blackbuffalo.com and we’ll be sure to accommodate you.

Can I buy multiple flavors in one order?

Yes, we sell all flavors in 2-Packs and 5-Packs. Additionally, you can build your own 2-Pack or 5-Pack of different products on the BYOB page.

What is SET, and why am I being charged for it?

State Excise Tax or SET is a tax imposed by states on the sale of specific goods or services. SET rates vary by state, and some states apply those SET rates to nicotine products. If your state imposes an SET on nicotine products, you’ll see separate line items for the appropriate sales tax as well the respective SET. The entire tax collected will be sent to the respective state.

Why do your products have a Prop 65 warning on them?

Our nicotine products contain a Prop 65 warning because nicotine is an ingredient found on the Proposition 65 list. Our Straight products also contain benzophenone, which is found on the Proposition 65 list.

Under 21 or trying to quit dip altogether?
